Scientists have predicted the effects of a nuclear war between the US and Russia

A full-scale nuclear war between Russia and the United States would plunge the Earth into a ten-year cold winter, American scientists said. Fires caused by such an attack will release 147 million tons of soot into the atmosphere, which will lead to the blocking of sunlight. In this case, the temperature on most of the Earth will drop, while the air in the Arctic and northern Eurasia, on the contrary, will warm up to anomalous values.

A full-scale nuclear war between the United States and Russia would plunge the entire Earth into a dark and cold winter lasting about ten years. This was reported by scientists at Rutgers University, the US National Center for Atmospheric Research and the University of Colorado - the Daily Mail published the scientific work.

For the study, the specialists applied a new modelling scheme, which differs from the previous one with improved resolution and a higher applicability limit of 140 kilometres above the surface. It is 50 km above the model that NASA introduced.
According to the results of the study, the large-scale use of nuclear weapons will lead to the fact that fires caused by the war will release 147 million tons of soot into the atmosphere - stratospheric winds will spread it all over the globe, because of which sunlight will be blocked.
According to scientific work, it takes about seven years to clear the veil, and another three years to stabilize the level of light on Earth. In this case, pollution will cause the near-surface air temperature to fall by more than 8 ° С. A similar temperature anomaly will last on the planet for about four years - pre-war indicators will return only after ten years of recovery.
Also, according to scientists, the conflict between Russia and the United States can lead to monsoons and strong fluctuations in the temperature of the surface water layer in the equatorial part of the Pacific Ocean, because of which the climate on Earth will undergo significant changes. This also applies to the Arctic with northern Eurasia, where the temperature will become higher than standard values due to the rapidly moving airflow.

Previous models presented by American experts, practically repeat the conclusions of modern scientists. According to the 2007 scheme provided by NASA's Goddard Space Research Institute, the planet’s climate will indeed change dramatically, but a soot cloud will leave the planet after a longer period. Also, a new work by scientists at Rutgers University, in contrast to the previous one, suggests that both air temperature and rainfall will fall sharply in the first few years after a nuclear war.
On August 6, the VTsIOM published a poll in which over 52% of Russians said they were afraid of a nuclear war. According to the study, 33% of respondents “experienced some concern” about the nuclear attack, another 14% are very worried about this, and 5% “experience constant fear”. At the same time, 46% of respondents are not afraid of the onset of such a military conflict.
It also turned out that the incident with the use of atomic bombs in history is remembered by the majority of citizens of the Russian Federation - 72%. At the same time, 21% are sure that there were no such cases, and another 7% found it difficult to answer. In turn, 79% of respondents believe that in the event of a nuclear war it is impossible to survive, even if people have at their disposal bomb shelters, food and water. 16% of Russians are of the opposite opinion. At the same time, 71% of the respondents do not know where the nearest atomic bomb shelter is located near their house, or they think that it does not exist, and 13% are sure that it exists, but they do not know the location of the protective structure.
In October 2018, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that a nuclear war could lead to the death of all mankind, therefore it is necessary to exclude the possibility of lowering the threshold for the use of nuclear weapons, which was spoken about abroad. “There is a tendency to lower the threshold of use. There is an idea to create low-power nuclear charges. And this is not global, but tactical use. And experts already have ideas that nothing, they can be applied. But lowering the threshold can lead to a global nuclear disaster, ”the head of state emphasized.
He also criticized the idea of using non-nuclear ballistic missiles. “A submarine shot a ballistic missile from the oceans, but hell knows if it’s nuclear or not. This is a very dangerous thing. And all this is being discussed, discussed. But I proceed from the fact that humanity has enough common sense and a sense of self-preservation, so as not to be taken to extremes, ”Putin said.
The president added that if nuclear missiles appear in Europe, then Russia will take measures to ensure security. “Then let them not squeak that we seek advantages. We do not seek advantages but maintain a balance, ensure our security, ”the head of state concluded.

  1. Why limit it to 10 years?
The Holy Bible makes it clear that there will not be a nuclear war,

Armageddon will destroy the Northern Confederacy and it will take 7 years for Israel to bury the dead.

So the scientists have not read their bible as there will not be a full scale Nuclear war.
