SETI @ home is a non-profit distributed computing project in which everyone can use their PCs to process the data of the SETI project, which searches for traces of extraterrestrial civilizations.

The reason probably lies in the OpenCL driver. AMD has not yet officially responded to this situation, but SETI @ home project participants are urging owners of Radeon RX 5700 and RX 5700 XT graphics cards to refuse to participate in computing until AMD has solved the problem.
