It turns out that the battery does not have a warranty

Indian user Chavhan Ishwar of the Redmi Note 7S smartphone told a heartbreaking story on his Facebook page.

The super popular Redmi Note 7S ignited and burned, Xiaomi's answer is ridiculous

On October 1, he bought the brand-new Redmi Note 7S through the Indian e-commerce giant Flipkart and got a smartphone in his hands-on October 3. Until November 2, the smartphone worked well and the user was quite pleased with it. However, at five o’clock in the evening on November 2, while at work, the user noticed the smell of burning and smoke coming from a smartphone that was lying on a table next to a computer.

Panicking, the user pushed the smartphone away from the computer and found that the device was very hot, and the complete transparent cover was melted from the heat. Having dealt with a fire hazard situation, the user turned to an authorized Xiaomi service centre in Thane on Monday, November 4.

In the service, the smartphone was accepted, but could not even remove the SIM card, the device was so damaged. The user was informed that he would have to wait 2-3 days while the smartphone was taken to the factory for diagnosis. On November 7, he was informed that the smartphone could not be repaired due to "abnormal" damage from fire.

Unsatisfied with this answer, he went to the service centre and the head of the service said that the battery, or rather “something” inside it, became the cause of the incident. The user tried to get to the bottom of the truth, noting that he did not drop the smartphone and would not put “something” inside. The employees were unable to respond and gave the victim a Xiaomi support email address.

A day later, the victim received an official response from Xiaomi with a promise to call him on the next business day. After waiting three days, the user himself called the manufacturer. The support manager listened to him and said: "Sir, the warranty does not apply to the battery."
