Toshiba talked about a development that can detect 13 types of cancer-based on an analysis of just one drop of blood. Diagnostic accuracy reaches 99%.
The technology and the diagnostic method built on it were developed jointly with the Research Institute of the National Cancer Center and the Tokyo Medical University. Partners expect to conduct full-scale trials and begin commercialization next year. The widespread availability of the method is expected within "several years."

Toshiba has developed a chip and a small device that can diagnose in less than two hours. Its cost does not exceed 180 dollars.
