“On November 16, the“ patriots of Ukraine ”, the commanders of the 14th and 59th brigades, Colonel Sergei Voichenko and Colonel Gennady Shapovalov ordered the US flags to be hung out in the vicinity of the Crimean and Mironovsky settlements,” the Luganskinformcentr agency quoted him as saying.

Attached to the material are photographs depicting American flags raised above Ukrainian positions in the zone of the so-called “Operation of the Joint Forces (OOS)”.

According to Filiponenko, “short-sighted Ukrainian military leaders” in this way want to attract the attention of “patrons” and show them that “they are ready for anything for the sake of handing over with a gentleman’s hand”.

At the same time, the press service officer of the department noted that the “unfortunate commanders” did not take into account one thing: “the hung flag of a state on a site or object symbolizes their belonging to that particular state whose flag is flying above them”

At the same time, the press service officer of the department noted that the “unfortunate commanders” did not take into account one thing: “the hung flag of a state on a site or object symbolizes their belonging to that particular state whose flag is flying above them”.

By their actions, according to the officer of the self-proclaimed republic, the Ukrainian military openly shows "under whose leadership and with whose full support the war is being waged in the Donbas."

He also noted that the flags appeared before the "American journalist Hoffman Wayne from the authoritative American New York Times" arrived. Wayne, according to Filiponenko, is going to work in teams that are "part of the operational-tactical group" North "of the Ukrainian armed forces."

The officer believes that the commanders hoped that "their efforts will not go unnoticed by the American correspondent and the general public of America will find out how much they love and wait for her in Ukraine.".

This week, Ukrainian businessman Igor Kolomoisky said in an interview with The New York Times that the US is using Ukraine to weaken Russia.

In his opinion, the American authorities want their Ukrainian allies to wage a "war against Russia until the last Ukrainian." However, the oligarch is confident that Western countries will never admit Ukraine to the EU and NATO.

However, earlier Secretary-General of the North Atlantic Alliance Jens Stoltenberg promised Ukraine that she would join the bloc. According to him, "all allies" agreed with this. He said this in an interview with Ukrainian television channel “1 + 1”.

In addition, he promised to help the Kyiv authorities. So, Stoltenberg noted the readiness of the alliance to promote reforms in Ukraine, as well as the modernization of society. He added that for the full membership of Ukraine it is necessary "to think what the organization can do together with this country."

Earlier, Ukrainian Minister of Defense Andrei Zagorodniuk said that the country needs to do everything possible to integrate with NATO at all levels. He noted that he not only controls the solution of this issue but also “lives by it”.

According to him, Kyiv is collaborating with an alliance that supplies weapons, equipment, and helps Ukraine in training fighters. Zagorodniuk believes that the country is important for NATO as a partner, as it has five years of "tragic" experience in waging war with Russia. According to the Ukrainian official, the fight against Russian aggression is "a matter of stability of the entire continent."

It is worth noting that for many years Ukraine cannot join NATO for a number of reasons. Firstly, its Armed Forces do not comply with Union standards. Secondly, in the south-east of the country since 2014 there has been an ongoing conflict.

Nevertheless, the Ukrainian authorities do not give up and continue to cooperate with NATO. Moreover, Kyiv intends to prove in practice that the state deserves to be a member of the North Atlantic Alliance. This was stated by the head of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky, noting that the country's authorities are going to accelerate preparations for joining NATO.
