Many flagship smartphones offer only minor improvements over their predecessors.

Tim Cook, CEO of Apple, does not believe that the smartphone industry has peaked. Moreover, he is sure that many more years will pass before reaching the maximum opportunities in this industry.

During a recent interview, he said: "I do not know anyone who would call a 12-year-old child an adult." Here we are talking about 12 years that have passed since the release of the first iPhone smartphone.

He added: “Sometimes these steps are huge, sometimes they are not so great. But the point is to always do things better, and not just change for the sake of change. ”

This statement was made against the backdrop of the fact that iPhone sales have declined in recent quarters, and overall smartphone sales in the industry have been at roughly the same level over the past few quarters.

Analysts explain the stagnation of the market by the fact that many flagship smartphones offer only minor improvements compared to their predecessors.

This does not allow companies to convince consumers that they need to update smartphones every year. Hence the assumption that innovation in smartphones reached a peak.

Apple has high expectations for the iPhone 12, which will receive 5G support and other changes.
