Tesla plans to produce 500,000 electric cars a year at its new plant in a suburb of Berlin. This was reported by a source with reference to the German edition of Bild.

The Tesla Model 3 and Model Y electric vehicles are planned to be built in GrĂ¼nheide last month, Tesla CEO Elon Musk announced last month .

According to the German newspaper Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, Tesla is investing in the plant up to 4 billion euros.

Bild claims the plant will create 10,000 jobs. Previously, the number 6000-7000 sounded. The company will occupy an area on which 420 football fields would fit. Construction will begin in 2020.

The manufacturer has not yet published official information about the project and does not comment on the publication of Bild.
