Adobe is now making Lightroom for Windows 10 available via the Microsoft Store (via Thurrott). It is the first app from the Adobe CC package to be released as a standalone app in the store.

So far, users had to download the software themselves from Adobe, there was no App Store variant. According to Thurrot, this is really big news, because previously Lightroom users could not simply access installation as convenient as that via the MS Store.

Photoshop Express and Photoshop Elements have been available in the Microsoft Store for a long time. So far, however, the "professional" applications à la Lightroom have not been. How it will go on, for example, whether Photoshop will follow soon, is unknown.

If you download the app from the store, you can try it out for seven days without an existing Adobe Cloud subscription. After that, a paid subscription is required - but it does not have to be the complete package; a photo subscription with Lightroom and Photoshop is also sufficient.

Feature-rich

The Lightroom app from the MS Store contains all the features that Adobe has available for organizing, editing and sharing images. According to Adobe, Lightroom offers the creative power of Photoshop and is ideal for everyone who loves photography: "With easy-to-use functions such as controls and presets, Lightroom makes it easy for you to give photos the exact look you have imagined" it says in the store description.
