In October this year, the manufacturer introduced its first electric car, the Mazda MX-30, which is equipped with a rather modest battery with a capacity of 35.5 kWh, while competitors often get much more capacious batteries.

Why did the company make such a decision? According to Christian Schultze, European Director of Brand Research, the company takes care of our planet in this way.

He said in an interview with Automotive News that during the production and further processing of a battery of this capacity, approximately the same amount of carbon dioxide (CO 2 ) is released as to when using a Mazda 3 diesel hatchback during its entire service life.

In this case, the replacement of the battery after 100 thousand miles was also taken into account.

Mazda determined in the course of calculations that a 95 kWh battery (approximate levels of Tesla Model S and Model X) initially requires more carbon dioxide due to its capacity. The situation is aggravated if the owner decides to replace the battery.
