Microsoft officially discontinues support for Windows 10 Mobile


For several years, Windows 10 Mobile has actually been a "dead" platform.

Even Microsoft itself launches its Android series of Surface. And Microsoft is delivering the final blow to its mobile OS: company officials have officially announced that Windows 10 Mobile is no longer supported.

However, devices on this OS will continue to work, office applications Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and OneNote will receive updates and security fixes until January 12, 2021.

 This means that users of the mobile OS have some more time before they are forced to switch to another platform. 

Microsoft had no alternative to choosing a mobile OS, the company is focusing on building devices on the Android OS, but users of Windows 10 Mobile will be able to choose between Android an
