Sony PS5 and Microsoft Xbox Series X are both equipped with host AMD chips, most notably the 7nm Zen2 CPU and the new GPU. Both giants have confirmed that the new console will implement real-time ray tracing technology.
Sony PS5 hardware takes a dramatic turn: AMD is depressed for

However, something interesting happened. According to the latest news, Sony PS5's optical tracking solution does not come from AMD.

Specifically, Komachi Ensaka received four graphics chip codename: Sparkman, Arden, Oberon, and Ariel. The first two are from Xbox and contain information about ray tracing and shadow technology. The latter two are compatible with Sony PS5, but without these codes.

One speculation is that Sony has developed its own optical pursuit dedicated acceleration module (hardware/software) or found a new supplier to customize (if NVIDIA is inevitably too dramatic ...)

Regardless of Sony's choice, the minimum impression from the developer is currently quite good. Sony Interactive Entertainment's senior executive Shin Yoshida said in an interview a few days ago that the PS3 console was the most difficult, so the PS4 has done a lot to make developers easier to use.

Yoshida believes that if developers are having trouble dealing with complex hardware, they can't focus on developing games, and PS5 seems to address this issue better.
