AMD also launched the Ryzen H series of high-performance mobile processors last year. It was trying to compete with Intel in the gaming notebook, but the results were not satisfactory.

The performance and energy efficiency of the second-generation Ryzen was not as good as the Core Nine. At the CES show in early January, AMD introduced the Ryzen 4000 H series mobile processor, with up to 8 cores and 16 threads, and 45W TDP. The performance is better than the Core i7-9700K.

Specifically, the Ruilong 7 4800H is an 8-core 16-core thread with the main frequency of 2.9-4.2GHz, a secondary cache of 4MB, and a tertiary cache of 8MB. It integrates a Vega 7 GPU, 448 stream processors, and a frequency of 1600MHz.

AMD claims that the multi-thread performance of the Ryzen 4800H is 46% ahead of the i7-8750H (single-thread lead 5%), and even the desktop-grade i7-9700K 7%, while the graphics performance is 39% and 10% ahead of the two, respectively. Creative performance is about 30% ahead of i7-9750H.

Some people may be unconvinced by the results of AMD ’s official test. So what is the actual performance? Now I have the DX12 TimeSpy running score of Ryzen 7 4800H-8350 points. The leaker Tum_APISAK also cited the evaluation database of Anandtech website. The results are as follows:

In this comparison, the Core i7-9700K's DX12 score is 8209 points, and the Ryzen 7 2700X is 8609 points. Then the performance of the Ryzen 7 4800H really exceeds the 95W 8-core processor such as the Core i7-9700K.

If you compare it, the physical score of the Core i7-9700K in the guru3d test is 8403, which is slightly higher than the 45W TDP Ryzen 7 4800H processor.

Regardless of the results, the latest burst of the Ryzen 7 4800H running score basically proves that the official AMD test results are basically reliable, and it is close to or exceeds the desktop version of the Core i7-9700K 8-core processor.

If you consider the huge gap between the 45W and 95W TDPs between the two sides, AMD is really turning over on the notebook processor, not only the performance exceeds the opponent, but also the energy efficiency catches up.
