Despite the fact that many companies are already actively selling smartphones that support fifth-generation networks, and the first iPhone 5G will be released only this fall, Apple does not bother it at all, according to the CEO of the company.

Asked by an analyst about Apple’s potential plans for 5G support in future iPhones, he didn’t give a specific date but noted that next-generation wireless communications are still at an early stage of development on a global scale.

He added that Apple is in no hurry, while the company has a clear plan. According to Cook, it’s quite normal that different companies have different plans to develop a new market, but at the moment there is no reason to worry that Apple is late somewhere. Everything has its time.

In the US, 5G coverage is quite limited. For example, Verizon launched a 5G network in only 31 cities. And AT&T's 5G network was launched in just five cities in December.
