Head of Intel FPGA Production Unit Moves to AMD


At AMD, Senior Business Vice President and CEO of Server Business Unit has been hired by industry veteran Daniel (Dan) McNamara.


At AMD, he is responsible for promoting the company's line of high-performance server products (now these are the 2nd generation AMD EPYC processors).

Previously, McNamara was senior vice president and general manager of Intel Corporation, where from May 2019 he headed the Intel Network and Custom Logic Group. Prior to that, he served as senior vice president of Intel Programmable Solutions Group.

 He took it in December 2015, when Intel bought Altera , in which McNamara worked from 2004 to 2015, having managed to change several senior positions.

Throughout his 27-year career, he has also held senior and engineering roles at StarGen, SemiTech Solutions, and Raytheon.
