Last October, Microsoft launched a beta test of the Xbox Console Streaming service, which allows you to play games for Xbox One on smartphones running Android.

Initially, only the beta program participants from the USA and Great Britain could test the new service. Now, Microsoft has officially announced that the Xbox Console Streaming program is available in all regions of the world where the Xbox One is sold.

Microsoft has confirmed that games for the Xbox 360 and the original Xbox are still not supported by the Xbox Console Streaming service.

[Update]-The Xbox Console Series is now available in all Xbox One markets

This feature, called Xbox Console Streaming, was introduced to Insiders in October as well. However, this was intended only for individuals within the United States and the United Kingdom. Microsoft announced today that console streaming is available.

To use Xbox console streaming, you must have Xbox internal with a console registered in the preview colour. You have Bluetooth 4.0. It is also required to have a phone running Android 6.0 or higher with 4.0, a Bluetooth enabled controller (not all Xbox One controllers have Bluetooth), and Microsoft recommends using a controller mount.

You should also make sure you get at least 4.75 Mbps speed, and 9 Mbps is recommended. Finally, download the Xbox Game Streaming (Preview) app from the Google Play Store and get started.

You can play a game for Xbox One on your console. What is not clear is whether you can play backwards compatible games, such as games created for the Xbox 360 or the original Xbox. In previous articles, Microsoft said that these games would not be played, but today's details were not included. We turned to Microsoft for clarity.
