Iranian Ministry of Health spokesman Jahanpur said on Sunday that Iran had added 1,028 Wuhan pneumonia cases and another 129 deaths in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of confirmed diagnoses in Iran to 21,638 and 1,685 deaths. Iran has become the fourth country in the world after China, Italy, and Spain to have more than 20,000 diagnoses.

Iranian President Rouhani said on Saturday that social isolation measures, including travel bans, against Wuhan pneumonia would be lifted in two to three weeks because he believed the disease would ease by then. Some Iranian opposition figures have said via social media that the actual number of infections and deaths is much higher than the government reports.
