First of all, it is with the stable version of Chrome 83 that the distribution of a suitable function for fans of mass tab opening begins. It allows you to group tabs, name groups, and mark them with different colors. The feature is being introduced slowly and may not appear immediately after installing Chrome 83.

According to the developers, the function was tested for several months and the company took into account the wishes of the test participants. For labels, you can use not only alphabetic names, but also emojis, for example, ❤️ or 📖. Like regular tabs, groups are saved when you open and close the browser.

The distribution of the new feature for Chrome will be gradual. According to the developers, this is done to maintain stability and browser performance.

This feature will appear in the new stable version of Chrome 81. Tab groups will be available on desktop versions for Chrome OS, Windows, macOS and Linux. Chrome is already available in the latest test version of the beta for the most anxious groups of tabs.

The update also includes a new design interface for security and privacy settings in the desktop version of the browser. Emphasis is placed on a more straightforward and understandable style. The settings were redesigned to allow for cookies, site settings, clearing of all data, and so on.

The developers added important security fixes to the update. A puzzle icon has been added to the top of the window, by clicking on which the user gets information about how to find and change information on this site.

Chrome 83 will also be the first version of the browser to block hidden cookies from third-party services. However, the user can change this setting for specific sites.

A total of 38 security patches were implemented. At least four of the closed vulnerabilities are very dangerous. Experts who discovered these vulnerabilities received thousands of dollars in rewards from Google. For example, researcher Wujin Oh received as much as 20 thousand dollars for a found error in reading mode.

A stable version of Chrome 83 is available for Linux, Windows, and Mac OS.
